About Heating Equipment
Heating systems are classified as Central or Local.
Central Heating contains a boiler, furnace, or heat pump to heat water, steam, or air, all in a central location such as a furnace room in a home or a mechanical room in a large building. Central Heating systems also contains either ductwork, for forced air systems, or piping to distribute a heated fluid and radiators to transfer this heat to the air.
Heating and Cooling Rentals
The most common type of heating and cooling models available for rent will be portable units used to heat or coll a
Pumps to Circulate - Boiler fed or radiant heating use pumps to circulate water and heat exchangers to heat the water. The most efficient heating method is geothermal heating a type of central heating.
Ductwork - Forced air systems use ducts to channel heated air into a space, the ducts may also be used to move cooled air (air conditioning). Air Cleaners can be added to the ducts to filter the air.
Electric/Gas - heating can also be created when filaments become hot when electricity is passed through it. Electrical heating is used in baseboard heaters, heat pumps, portable electric heaters.
Temperature Control Equipment
Heating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration systems consist of many mechanical, electrical, and electronic components, such as motors, compressors, pumps, fans, ducts, pipes, thermostats, and switches. In central forced air heating systems, for example, a furnace heats air, which is then distributed via a system of metal or fiberglass ducts.
Blueprints and other specifications are used to install oil, gas, electric, solid-fuel, and multiple-fuel heating systems and air-conditioning systems. After putting the equipment in place, technicians will install fuel and water supply lines, air ducts and vents, pumps, and other components. They may connect electrical wiring and controls and check the unit for proper operation. Regular maintenance is usually required.
